SUNNY BROS Knuckle Hog
SUNNY BROS Knuckle Hog
Have you ever heard of the lure brand, SUNNY BROS? I think this is the first time for many of you. Since it’s a small Japanese local brand. I have known their name but I had never had a chance to get their lures. However, when I was browsing shops on the internet during last year's holiday shopping season, I found their lures. The Hook Up Tackle has it. Wow.
This is SUNNY BROS Knuckle Hog. 3.2”. Haha. Looks cool, right?
Two big paddle arms may make great action while sinking down to the bottom. This also might make a yummy gesture on the bottom. Like, "hey! I'm here! Eat me if you can!". Checking out the official website, it says that these big claws hit each other just like clapping hands generating strong waves in the water, which beckon bass. To make these powerful waves, the claws are designed bigger than the body. This lure is intentionally made of less salty material. In general, to make it produce unique action and to make it heavy, putting more salt is popular. However, Knuckle Hog uses less salt material to make a well-balanced claw action and falling speed. This also can provide extra merit like easy-to-repair. I love heavy salty material but it’s fragile. Salty soft baits with tails, arms, and tentacles often have a problem with durability. Less salt would mean, in theory, more durable than other salt material soft baits. To fully utilize the unique big claws, I’d say coupling up with Texas, Free, and Jika rig would be the way to go. In the video below, I use a Free rig. Although, when I fish for a grassy weedy area, probably I would pick up a Jika-rig.
