Issei UMITARO Umahata grub
Issei UMITARO Umahata grub
Do you know the lure brand, Issei? It’s a Japanese fishing brand. Very popular in Japan. But I think they still are just a Japanese local popular brand.
Issei (一誠) is a lure brand for Haruhiko Murakami's lures. Haruhiko Murakami (村上晴彦) is a real genius angler and a huge influencer. Famous for his world-shaking inventions. Drop shot rig and Neko rig. All of Issei’s products have his philosophy in them. Very well-engineered and unique. He’s still making new trends in the market. Keep evolving lure fishing.
This is Issei UMITARO Umahata grub.
UMITARO is a sub-brand name for Issei's saltwater fishing gear. UMI means Ocean in Japanese. TARO is a common boy's name. UMITARO can sound like "Ocean Boy" for us, Japanese.
Umahata Grub is a curly-tail grub with a slim body and a big curly tail. I was looking for something like this. A slender body and a big curly tail. Like Keitech Mad Wag. But Mad wag is too slim and long. A shad tail worm body plus a long but not too long curly tail. That’s what I wanted. And... I found this in a Japanese fishing store in Tokyo. Yes!
I tried this for Spotted Bay Bass fishing with a Texas rig. It worked very well!
