[Japanese Anglers' Voice] Keitech Swing Impact [Review]

Keitech Swing Impact. Shadtail swimbait-type lures produced by Keitech, the Japanese fishing brand.

The action is marvelous. Swiming, falling, and slow dragging, with whatever actions, the tail widely swings appealing to the predators. No other lures can be like a Swing Impact.

Any rig can be used for this extraordinary soft bait. Jig head rig could be the most common and easy. But Texas rig, Free rig, JIka rig, Carolina rig, Drop shot rig, Neko rig, and rubber jig trailer. Any rigs we can use.

My son caught a nice one on the Swing Impact jig head rig.

Waki's recommendation.

Jig head rig:

Probably the most popular rig for Swing Impact. Very versatile we can apply many techniques and can be used for any situation.

2" and 2.5" are the best match for 1/32 to 1/16 oz small jig head like a crappie jig. I prefer to couple them up with Keitech Super Round Tungsten Jig Head. When I fish grassy areas, a jig head with a brush guard, Keitech Mono Guard Jig Head, would be better. This small jig head rig can be a perfect rig for the summertime panfishing game.

3" is perfect for 1/8oz to 3/16oz jig head. Swimming, Lifting and Falling, Bottom dragging. Any technique can be used. Not just Largemouth and Smallmouth, this can also be a great weapon for saltwater fishing. I caught tons of Croaker, Spotted Bay Bass, Sand Bass, Calico, and California Halibut.

3.5 and above sizes are good for 1/4oz to 1/2oz swim jig head. I mainly use them for saltwater fishing catching Halibut and Bay Bass. Cast it as far as possible using over 8'6" spinning tackle. After the lure touchdowns the bottom, just keep reeling at a steady speed.

A killer bait for Saltwater fishing, too.

Jig trailer:

The awesome tail action is working great for a Jig trailer. When it's slowly falling, the tail keeps swinging appealing to fish. When the jig touches down to the bottom, the tail would still be slightly naturally shaking. Wow... why don't fish bite it!?
2" and 2.5" would be the best match for a finesse jig. 3" and 3.5" are good for 1/4oz to 1/2oz flipping jig. 4" and 4.5" are good for a swim jig.

Drop shot rig:
This lure can be a great drop shot bait, too. For a drop shot, my preference is Slow Dragging. Basically, no shaking is needed since the tail would be swinging anyway just by slowly pulling the lure.

Texas rig and other Texas alternative rigs:

This bait is also great bait for Texas rig, Free rig, and Jika rig. 3.5", 4", and 4.5" would be good for Texas rig. My favorite technique for this rig is Lifting and Falling. When the lure falling, the tail action attracts fish eaters. The bite often comes right after the lure lands on the bottom. Another good technique is Bottom Dragging. You may think this bait imitates small baitfish. But I'd say this bait can imitate any creatures. When I use this on the bottom, I try to make it move like small crustaceans like shrimp.

Split shot rig:

Rigging 2" and 2.5" for the Split shot rig, we would be able to catch tons of panfish! Cast it and slowly reeling. Numerous bites we'll have.

Carolina rig:

Yes! Swing Impact is a perfect bait for Caroline rig. Just drifting by the current, the tail would automatically swing and bring us fish!

Neko rig:

This lure can be used for Neko rig and Shaky head. I prefer using this rig to fish a cover like grasses and trees. The tail action during falling should be a key. Make sure we give enough line slack to make it *free fall* not *curve fall*.

The voices from Japanese anglers.

  • 👍 The perfect bait. No complaint at all.
  • 👍 The standard! You can see why this lure is a long-year best-selling lure once you use it.
  • 👍 The tail stably swings even when it's deadly slowly retrieved.
  • 👍 A bit fragile but I'd say this is a perfect bait.
  • 👍 Easy to get! Many tackle shops have fair amounts of stocks.
  • 👍 Reasonable price.
  • 👍 So many color choices. (In Japan, popular tackle shops produce a shop original color working directly with Keitech)
  • 👍 With this great bait, We'll never be skunked.
  • 👍 I love it. I just love it.
  • Fragile... fragile... fragile...

Swing Impact... I love it.

 Thank you!
