[Lure] [Review] Yamamoto Kut Tail Worm
Do you know Yamamoto Kut Tail Worm? It's one of the most popular Gary Yamamoto soft baits in Japan. As popular as Yamamoto Senko is.
For any reason, this bait is not popular in the U.S. at all. But in Japan, this is well known among Bass anglers as a so-called live bait alternative. Some said this bait is a sort of cheat should be banned for the local competition! lol.
Tons of Gary Yamamoto selections in the tackle shop in Japan. In Japan, Gary Yamoto worms are coming in the Yellow package. (It's green in the U.S.)
Yes. This is a great bait that never ever got me disappointed.
Waki's recommendation.
Drop shot tig:
When I rig a drop shot for Bass Fishing, Kut tail is always my first choice. This setup has brought me tons of fish. I mainly use 3.5", 4", and 5" but sometimes I use 6.5" with a heavy tackle set.
Kut Tail Worm / Drop shot rig.
Neko rig:
This bait is also good for Neko rig. I know many anglers prefer floating worms for Neko since they can stand on the bottom. But it does not matter for the so-called magic salty Gary material. Simply say, fish loves Gary.
Let's wacky-rig it. Put a nail weight in the head, pitch cast it to the cover edge, free fall it to the bottom. Then, shake, shake, shake, and pause. You'll get a big bite!
Neko rigged Kut Tail Worm caught Warmouth.
Weightless wacky:
A killer rig. When we know "where fish is", throw a wacky-rigged Kut tail there. This is truly a killer rig. Not just bass. Bluegill and Sunfish are also aggressively attacking it!
Weightless wacky / Kut tail worm.
Texas rig and JIKA rig:
Kut Tail Worm is very versatile as well as Senko is. And it has various sizes. 3.5 inches to 7.75 inches. It used to have 10 inches, too. The 6.5 inches is a perfect fit for Texas rig and Jika rig.
In the early summer, hitting holes on weed beds with Jig-rig can be very productive. Gary Yamamoto 6.5 inches Kut Tail and Jackall Flick Shake 6.8 inches are my favorites for this pattern. Their bulky body attracts big fish.
You know... Gary Yamamoto is still the best.
